Corporate Responsibility

A definition by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development states that, “Corporate Social Responsibility is the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large.”

Companies have an impact on people, the environment and other businesses. Their investors and stakeholders expect companies to contribute to the communities they work in and minimise any negative impact of their activities. Your CR communications let investors and stakeholders know how you are acting (to minimise climate change, for example) while looking after the interests of your shareholders, employees and customers.

The future of CR communications

Making a commitment to CR shows how well your company is managing its social and environmental responsibilities. As the concept of corporate responsibility evolves, companies will want to review the way they communicate on their activities.

Key impact areas include:

understanding and engaging in the issues that matter most to external stakeholders
creating a working environment that enables employees to realise their full potential
managing risk, being honest about shortcomings, showing how the business is learning and improving
reducing environmental impacts
playing an active role in supporting local communities.

Continuous improvement recognises the work involved in improving your company's positive impact on society. We work with our clients to set realistic goals for raising performance and for managing progress towards higher standards. This is an ongoing process.
